I think when you own a Fountain it's not a snout...it's a beak.... :D

Ms PatriYacht 07-08-2007 09:34 PM

sorry to hear this, glad he is OK. Any word on the speed. I have to say hearing about stuff like this is unerving, so often it is just Ian and I on the water, and I have to confess I might not be as quick to figure out what to do if Ian got knocked out

Downtown not everybody spends their time in cheap gin mills or selling off brand trucks:evilb:

On the serious side this type of thing could have happened any one of us at one time or another. Best wishes to Jay for a speedy recovery

Had the shifters been on the "right" side all would have been fine!.......:evilb:

I am just kidding, glad to hear he will be ok!:drink:

Yes Claude, he was at the run.

Hi this is Jen, Jay's girlfriend. I just wanted to report he is home now and in a lot of pain. He has a broken nose and has bruising and swelling to his brain. He is also bruised from head to toe. The boat is ok, just has bent throttles. I just wanted to extent my appreciation to all of you for your support, phone calls, and cards. When Jay is awake he keeps telling me he will be back on the water next weekend. I DON"T THINK SO!!!!
As for the news reports please don't believe anything you hear or read. For the boat to jump 20 feet in the air the boat must be running off rocket fuel. :D
As for the REAL story Jay was on his way to the marina to pick me up, he was going by Marble Island when he hit another boats wake. His boat was still turning which caused it to land on its port side jarring him back and forth. His friend was not injured. And we both THANK GOD HE WAS WITH HIM, he was able to get Jay to the marina and get the help he needed. I extent my gratitude and love to him for helping save my baby's life. It has been a very scarey and sleepless time for all of us.
Thanks again for all the support. I will keep you all posted along the road to recovery.

Tantrum 07-10-2007 06:43 PM

Glad to hear he is doing well.

VtSteve 07-10-2007 06:45 PM

Hope he gets back at it when all is well Jen. I'm finally at my own dock now, but I used to have my little 22 Stingray next to his Fountain. Appreciated his help there as well.

bouyhunter 07-10-2007 07:22 PM

Glad to hear he's doing better and at home.

Downtown42 07-11-2007 09:10 AM

hang in there.

Sydwayz 07-11-2007 09:15 AM

When it comes time to do so, just pull the controls and ship them back to the manufacturer. They can swap out the sticks for new ones pretty easily; and should not be expensive.

Kanookstr 07-11-2007 04:57 PM

Thats great to hear. Hope to see you guys in a couple weeks when I come up for Vaca. Till then relax and have a speedy recovery..

powerguy 07-22-2007 01:06 PM

Mallets Bay is know for those kind of boat wakes. Lots of larger boats and a tight waterway.

Sounds like a valuable learning experience for all without too much damage.

dirtycarr 07-31-2007 08:26 AM

Thanks everyone for your support! I really appreciate it.

dirtycarr 07-31-2007 12:05 PM
