Had to chop the throttle three this past Saturday on a local river. Once for a Wave Runner, the other for some 8' boat with an outboard and for a ski boat with everyone looking backwards!!!! Seems the smaller they are dumber they get.
Going back to the ramp there were two Wave Runners going the other direction, each on both sides of the river. So I figured they were going to let me split them (NOT that this is correct!). Well the first one passed off our right and the one to the left decided to also pass to our right! At the last minute!!!!! It was clear neither one of them knew what they were doing. It was like amateur day on the river and everyone's head were up their a$$es!! This was one day I could not wait to get off the water!

Was just watching the 6:00pm news earlier this evening ... 2 women riding PWC's on the Ohio River in downtown Cincinnati, colided. News said one turned in front of the other and the other one hit her. One of the 2 women died and not much mentioned about the other one. Someone in a pontoon boat pulled her from the river and started doing CPR, but she died. Not a good day on the river for anyone. We were just on the river yesterday. The river is in pretty good shape ... semi-clean and not much debri. From some of the dumbazz chit we see on the local lakes and river every weekend, I'm suprised there are not more fatalities or accidents involving PWCs'. Just to be clear, though, I'm not trying to downplay today's tragic news - that young woman (they said early twenties) was someone's daughter.

I owned 2 standups before I pulled my head out & bought a boat. I grew up boating & still did when I owned skis, but I gotta tell ya, any jackazz can get on a waverunner.
I have a friend paralized from a waverunner to waverunner accident.
I watched another crash from another boat as my buddies boat was totalled by a teenager on a waverunner, 1/4 mile out of the rental dock @ Lake Powell.
At least the standups require some balance & skill & aren't available for rent in most cases. I always kept my distance & wits. Training/license should be required of all watercraft riders, boats & especially waverunners. Look at all the idiots on the highways, and those people at least had to pass a drivers test.

IN CT you need a water craft license to operate one, a boating liscense is different
You can get a combined also which is what I have.
I was a jet skier for years and was VERY responsible always watched behind me before turning looked 360 dgrees before jumping any wakes etc. I see guys on water craft who cant drive and dont look around and I also see exactly the same thing with boaters.
Theres so much stupidity at the boat launch from either side it astonishes me.

These people simply do not know the rules on the water, plain and simple. I'm sure the majority beleive that you're supposed to yield to them, no matter what the circumstances.
I am the first year (birthdate) required to have a boating license here in Ohio and believe that should hold true for any operator of a vessel out on the water. Although this doesn't guarantee that it would fix the problem, at least it would deter a few boneheads from hopping on one of these things.
I was out on the water with about 8 people on my boat last Sunday. A few got too close. It makes me so nervous when I see them out in the distance in Sandusky Bay up ahead of me. I usually go out of my way just to put a few hundred feet in between us. It's like you're not only being responsible for your cargo, but also them. Aggrevating.....

I got flipped the bird by one last weekend after I had to come off of plane while avoiding a collision with him. I am currently shopping for the loudest air horn I can possibly buy. Anyone has ideas let me know what is best. The next time this happens I want to blast em with my horn when I am still 60yds from them..

had one a hole lady yesterday jumping the wake of a cruiser in the river channel!!! she didn't even know i was coming.. I slowed way down just about to come off plane and she makes a 90 to make another jump and I notice there is a kid on the back too
couldn't be 6 or 7 the cruiser knew them and slowed down and waved them in. why don't they pay more attention???
