well Just got back from going up to Cedar Point for dinner with my wife and almost nailed my first Jet skier because the jerk was showing off for his girl friend and not looking where he was going... I had to swerve the boat to get away from him ...... N.G.M. F.
I guess we will have to start making little stickers like they had in world war II for jap air planes downed!!!Truely brain dead Azz holes..

A number of years a go, I was curising at about 45 MPH on Lake Ontario when a jet ski came up from behind me in my blind spot, passed me about 20 feet off my starboard side, then spun the ski about 50 feet in front of me. I had to swerve hard to miss him. I immediately wound around and stopped beside him fuming. Before I cound get a word out, he started yelling at me for almost hitting him. Once his profanity laced rant was finished, I announced that I had his registration numbers already called in to the Sheriff, I was bigger and faster than him, and I wouldn't miss the next time. "Maybe you'd like to leave before I run you over a few dozen times by mistake?" I suggested. Boy, did he leave in a hurry.

The 2 stroke ones are the worse, its like having a freakin' mosquito buzzing in your ear, the 4 strokes AT LEAST are quieter. I also think someone should advise these dip$hits that there 70 MPH Jet Ski's [usually] DONT have brakes or navigation lights!
I boat in the 1000 Islands area, and have seen these fools literally a FOOT away from the lake freighters that use the St Lawrence, sometimes WELL after dusk! These things are 750+ feet long and take a mile or more to turn and even longer to stop. What do you think is gonna happen if you dump your Sea Doo a foot away from one of these things?????
I actually considered buying a pair of 4 stroke Sea Doos a few years ago, and one of the things that detered me was the "stigma" that they seem to have by most boaters

Man, ANYBODY who has the skill [and pockets] to cruise a 60ft Hatteras is OK in my book! LOL, Jet Ski's or not!
Its a shame, really, I looked at getting a pair since we have a cottage on a bay and its sometimes a pain to go to the neighbours places in a "real" boat, and my fat arse in a paddleboat is something NOBODY wants to see! so, I figured Jet Ski's would be a good idea, I talked to a few people who told me they are kinda like snowmobiles or 4 wheelers, you NEED two for them to be any fun. I also thought they would be a crapload cheaper on fuel to use for watersports, but, after talking to other boaters I just couldn't get past the stigma, although, if you are looking to unload those 2 collecting dust in your garage let me know! LOL
I also noticed it wasnt JUST performance boaters that hated them, bass fishermen, commercial captains, Hell, even sailboats [not sure if they are rainbow colored or not! ha ha] hated them. I think they remind people of the "organ donors" on sport bikes who rip up and down the highways at 170MPH weaving in and out of traffic, usuallly during long weekend rush hour.

It's amazing that more people don't die on these things. I don't know what it is about these morons that makes them think that they own the lake, or what kind of stones they have (or lack of brains) that makes them feel comfortable next to something that is literally 10X's their size less than 3 - 4 feet away.
Also, they think they're some sort of funeral procession that can't be broken when they travel in a line, and they have no idea what the "rules of the road" are. I almost smoked one last weekend that was following a dipshyt in a beat up 24' SeaRay. There were three of them in line, coming from my port, of course, wouldn't alter their course, wouldn't slow down or speed up, and the 50 yard trail of nonsense they had strung out over the lake was right in my way.
I wish cops would be more diligent about handing out reckless boating tickets to them, and the judges should force them to take a boaters safety course.

I think a lot of the problem is the face that unless you buy a "brand new" one they are pretty cheap, which means ANY Yahoo can afford one, plus, if they got 'nothing" into them they dont care about what happens to them, and they just run the crap out of them.
My Boat may be a POS compared to the high dollar stuff on this board, but, its mine and I take care of it, and it cost a lot of money [to a "regular" guy like me] So, I value it, if I had bought it used off some local website or marina for a couple of grand I might not be as meticulous..........
I also think someone should explain to these MORONS what a "NO WAKE" zone means!
