I love loto, i live about 5 hours from there and make it down there about 15 times during the summer and fall. The water combines smooth during the week with rough as *ell on the weekends which the checkmate holds up awesome in. We just put a new 454 gen VI in which is about 435 horse, its a '94 we've owned since new named 'N The Red.

I'm picking up a 1999 28' Convincor with twin 454 Mags. Really looking forward to getting on the water this year in my own ride instead of depending on others. I'm very curious to see how it does out there on the weekends. I know there are plenty with bigger boats that feel it's too small, but I feel it's gonna be a good performance boat for me to start with.
We'll see you out there, I'm sure.

I wasn't very clear. I was wondering how you like the boat on that lake, but you answered that question.

Congrats - I grabbed an 89 28' with twins as well - the blocks are in the shop, morphing into 496's. Got any Pics?

The boat does great, i dont drive it easy especially to the party cove, one thing I do recommend is offshore motor mounts. With twins it should move and keep up with the bigger boats. One problem we do have when running in rough water is keeping the engine hatch hinges tight, I check them everyday since we almost lost a hatch a while back
