I have a 94 253,4400 lbs with a weekend cabin, I removed the swim platform(110 lbs) added swim steps, 06 B-1. -2 imco shorty, merc labbed 26P, imco steering, 24" trim tabs,. 540 bbc with full msd, cmi, 741 cam, aluminum heads, 1.8 rockers. HP 1000 Holly with 2" super sucker, engine was a HP 500. I turn the 26P at 5200 seeing only 74 on speedo, i did check the speedo with a gps was within a 1 mph. I do run imco mufflers. See some pictures are in the checkmate offshore only colum. Best speed i have seen is 76 aired out. I had the bottom acid washed and checked for a hook and no increased in speed. Glen syracuse ny

I know of a 06 300 that has 620hp with 4 people and 80 gallons of fuel running a 26p bravo1 and at 5400 rpms it runs 84 mph on GPS, to me it sounds like you have a bad slippage rate.

I'd sure like to find out what you have done to that 225 to reach those speeds. Is your motor a 3.0 liter or a 2.5 liter motor?? I'm running the same boat...1994 Checkmate Pulsare 2100 long deck with 1995 3.0 liter Merc 225 Xri turning a Trophy Plus 26. With two adults, half a tank of gas, full gear and cooler, 7.5 " setback I'm running 73-74 mph. I'd love to hit 80 mph with a stock motor!!!

Last run of the year: 73.1gps.

1999 28' Convincor
Twin stock 454 EFI Mags
Bravo 1's
27P Mirage Plus 3-blades
5100rpm

Rockin' back and forth. Gotta figure out how to settle it down w/o scrubbin' speed. I'm learning. Suggestions welcome! Not sure if I'm just trying to trim it up too much or my drives aren't at identical trim or ?????
