303 convincor Twin 502 efi 5000 rpms 78mph this is with 28 pitch Bravo lab 4 blade

I have a 97 242 convincer with 7.4 and pro charged ran 73 going to LA boat show in Feburary and look for different power options

1994 Checkmate Pulsare 2100/1995 Merc 225 Xri, 7.5" Setback On Hyd. Jack Plate, Dah/merc Chopper 26, 71.2 Mph On Gps And Still Climbing!!! I Need More Setback To Settle Down The Chine Walk And I Think I'll See 75+ Mph.

I'm going to take a look at a 28ft. 91 Checkmate Maxxum w/502c.i. 390 h.p.
Bravo 1> Seller tells me there are 50 hrs on the motor. He also says it cruises at 40 and tops out at 60. Comments appreciated with regard to this boat!

That sounds about right. My 28 w/outboards and a total of 520hp tops out at around 80mph.

I love it!

It is just the right size if I want to go trailer one day without the family, it is still not a burden to launch off the trailer,get in and go. Anything larger I think becomes more involved.

Mine is an '89 but you would never know it.

It is holding up real well.

I have a Checkmate 251 convinvor classic with an Hp500. I run 78mph on the gps. XZ drive with an Imco shorty. 27p bravo 3-blade. I think if the prop was worked it could do an honest 80

lil big boat, thats some good speed, but it dont add up??? how can you be running a 23 pitch at 4700 and get to 73, even with a 1.36 ratio????
maybe your tach is off???
