How fast do you guys run?
 

I've seen the 100mph club thread.
I've read the who has what thread.


Now I want to see how fast fellow checkmate-ers run. What kind of speeds can you guys get in your Checkmate's?

Haven't run with the mods yet but did about 61-ish with stock 7.4L in a 251 hull last year.

Mine is powered by a mostly stock ( except for Gil Exhaust ) 454 magnum. I get about 67 g.p.s. 72 on the speedo.

229 Maxxum 454, with some mods,heads with rollers, forged pistons, intake, Holley, Mallory ign, cam etc. runs low 70's with a 4 blade 24 Hydro. Decent speed with great reliability.

270 convincor 500hp efi 5300 rpms 74mph this is with a 25 pitch hydromotive 4 blade.

86' Convinsor 251, 468 w/Valako Merlin heads 79 MPH:D :D :D

dlbCheckmate, did you ever venture out on PawPaw Lake last season? Noticed you are from St. Joe.

2001 convincor 270 w/ 500hp, running about 72mph using 27p mirage 3 blade. Still testing the right prop.Any suggestions?Boat has 18 hrs.

There has been a prop thread floating around, don't know if you've read it, but most Check owners have found a 4-blade hydromotive works like a champ.

I am thinking of switching from my 4 blade Bravo 1 to a 4 blade Hydromotive. I have read a few posts here on how well Checkmates' like that wheel. Have any of you guys done this switch? Who has the best deal on Hydromotives these days?
