Mine turns my 24 at 5000 rpm easily? Well, it doesn't right now, cuz as you know mine is broke right now.

I got a 24 coming from a memeber that was nice enough to help me out and trade him for mine
I had a 2000 259 w/ a 454MAG. My suggestion would be to run the boat to 4K and pull the tabs all the way up. Trim the boat just past half way on the old Checkmate drive trim gauge. If your not pulling at least 4800rpm I would have the engine checked for compression. I would do this before buying any props, something is a miss here.

Just for the record my 259 Convincor liked the B1 24 best. That was with 460HP/515lbsTQ.

I was very disappointed in the performance. Everytime you take off and its starts to plane off the prop slips/cavitates and you have to back the throttle down then get back into it. secondly its only pulling about 4300rpm to. It seams very slow from a dead stop. Is this a problem with the prop? what do you guys recommend? any help
If the engine is operating well, the 4300 at WOT indicates too much prop. I had a similar problem with the Laser on my boat starting off, and replaced the vent plugs with solid plugs. Problem solved. Not sure if the Mirage has the vent plugs. They also have pretty different diameters for outboard props and stern drives, wouldn't be the first time someone goofed up.
