Default Splashed the boat this weekend!

Put the boat in the water for the first time this year and everything went well except performance is not the same as last yr! Its a 99 ZT240 with 454MPI. Last fall i was getting 66-68 with a light load. Yesterday I could only get 60-62 with light load. Was only getting 4200 -4400 rpms when i usually get 4600-4700. I did not change anything except oil, plugs, prop sharpened and the usual for winter/summer prep. I'm thinking bad gas! Any ideas??

with addition to the plugs & oil every year, i usually do the cap & rotor, and fuel/water separator.......But i'll usually run the boat briefly before changing out the fuel/water seperator to catch some of the water that built up in the tank over the winter.
i also do my plug wires & sea water pump every other season.

start by changing out the separator and fill up with premium fuel and you should be ok.

You may want to check the fuel/water separater again.....if condensation built in the tank over the winter it may have filled the separator. You can usually just take it off, physically look at it, pour it out, and reinstall.
