one thing that did bother me is that im getting alot of water inside the transom bracket...it has a drain plug so i assume that this is semi-normal....just felt like it was a bit more than to be expected....it was in the water for about 22 hours and prolly had round 10 gallons in it id say......dont want any water damage....

any thoughts???

Probably from the deckplate, I put vaseline on the o-ring to minimize this.

heres a question (or two) for you guys:

what should i see for top speed?

whats the max rpm on the 2.5 promax?

ima start airing the boat out a bit more as i get used to it and just wana know what rpm/ speed i should be seeing when im maxed out. its got 26 pitch choppers on it now.....

LIGHTSPEED, the guy that built and rigged this boat from new with three different sets of motors, and i have been talkin and he says the boat ran 77 mph on gps with the exact setup i have now. i hope hes right! that would be killer!

rchevelle71: can you explain a lil more? im not sure wht you mean when you say deck plate...and what o ring are you talkin bout? thanks!!

Is there a removable plate on the top of the transom bracket? If so, there should eb an o-ring between the removable plate itself, and the mounting ring.

ok i gotcha. the transom bracket on this boat doesnt have a plate. it is like a big square tube and has two round access ports on the top of it.

maybe they are leakin.

thanks for your help!

Cool boat, only drawback to me is the red interior. That red vinyl will blister your ass if you forget to cover it.

nope I have custom bolsters that are red that I put in my baja. it was fine up here.

Congrats on the boat. You will love the outboards. I have a 28 with twins and love it. Have carb motors but still does great on fuel.

Congrats on the new boat. I used to see it out at our local beach quite often.

yeah the red interior isnt an issue at all! i was thinkin that it night be be i was surprised that neither the paint or the interior got hot enough to present a problem. was it hotter than white? yes....but not enought o notice or complain about.

thanks to all you guys! i love the boat and cant wait to spend the next week on the water for the fourth!

just had both motors serviced today. starboard engine had 3 of the four lower motor mount bolts broken off. somebody didnt use anti sieze and got rough tryin to get em out and snappe dem. gnna be drillin and tapppin those in the mornin. both lower units had the wrong plug in em and both impellers were on the verge of disintegrating.

ill have it all straightnened out and ready to go in the mornin.....

My 2800 SX arrives July 3rd! We'll have to compare notes. I'll be setting up my boat initially with twin Merc 2.4 Liter 200's, 25" mids, Bob's nose coned lower units just to get her back on the water. We'll have to compare notes!
