The 43 is NOT an Apache mold, it's a Chief/NuTech mold that's been laying dorment until Checkmate partnered up with Seelye Wright Toy Store to build the 43 again. The only heritage with Apache is that the molds were originally designed/marketed by Bob Sacente (of Apache). There was alot of controversy with the original Chiefs that have nothing to do with Checkmate. Checkmate has improved the lamination schedule/build process and brought the cockpit up to date with the changes that have been made. It's priced well and should sell very well when you consider the price of similar sized high performance boats. (Cigarette, Nortech, Outerlimits, etc) Congrats to Checkmate for building a monster boat that turns heads and runs well!!!

As far as looking nice Id agree but this boat is so new only time will tell how it performs and how it handles different types of conditions. I mean how many hours could it have on it right now 20?

From what I've heard, the 36 was a dog with those steps. Infact, I know one 36 where they retooled the bottom to make it a straight "V" hull again and it wound up weighing a ton!
