Default How fast?

A buddy of mine is interested in a 1989 221 Vision that has a 365 horse 454 MAG. Just checking to see if anyone on the Check board has experience with these hulls. The salesman said it does 77 MPH. Thanks, Craig

I would say mid 70's GPS is realistic!

Cool, sounds like a fast hull especially with the 454 MAG. Thanks for the replies. You just never know when dealing with salesmen. No offense if you happen to be one.

I believe the Vision had a 19 deg bottom so you will get good speed but a little rougher ride. Should be a good lake/river boat. I had a 229 Maxxum with 454 450hp and ran 74.8gps. I was a little heavier and had 24 deg bottom. The 221 should be a mid 70's boat. Make sure it has a Bravo drive, some older models had Alphas.

Rob,
Some short guy dressed in black must have changed my avatar!
The beak boat is running great, really impressed with the Procharger. I'm still trying to get up to Solomons before the seasons over. Maybe we can get some folks together up there. I've been traveling way too much on business this year so planing has been dificult.
