Default 270 Convinsor

I'm looking at a 2004 checkmate convinsor online and i was curious what the engine options were for that boat and how fast they went with the 496? Is this a good starter boat? and i was told to steer away from zt boats and i was curious what some of the draw backs where compared to the convinsor?

A 270 with 496 will run 65-68mph, tow it with a 1/2 ton, decent size cabin if you choose to over night, big enough to handle some rough water. I would say it's a great starter boat! I haven't heard to stay away from the zt hull, maybe someone else can chime in on that
