All Trimed Up,
I hate to say it to a fellow Checkmater, but you did break the rules. That class is for completely stock motors, meaning no mods what so ever. Some mods are very hard to detect and that is one problem with the stock classes. The only way to really tell if a motor is stock is to tear it down. I don't think that they will be able to get that passed. We have a 251 with a completely stock 454. The best I have seen is 60 on gps. Granted, I could get more, but 70 with a stock 454 Mag is not attianable. I think that the inspectors should have been able to realize that 70 is not possible with a stock 454 Mag.

You are completly right it is possible however my boat last year did win the class and it did have a stock motor with 454 mag with over 600 hard hours on it. And it went 67 on the radar at the shootout.
The motor was built to be a 496 but I could not see spenting $2200 dollars for a crank and new rods and new pistons when the old ones were OK still. To let everone know we talked to the shootout about the rules and they said that I was going to be in the stock class because of not having header or different carb or intake or different iginction

Hey KC and mpally
For next year I will be in the M class because I am buying header and new carb a 850 holley. Not sure about the header maybe gill or lighting, CMI if I can find some used ones some where. It is been fun talking about boating to bad where not boating for real... THE WEATHER IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
