I have a 1986 222 Stinger that's been out of the water (garaged) for several years. I spun the couple with the last engine that I had (400ci SB .030 over fairly built). Boat was fast. Boat does not have an engine in it. Have all the parts, Alpha drive with nosecone, Hydromotive 15x25 prop, block, crank, rod, pistons, etc. Will need to put together. If interested, email me at [email protected]

Boat is located in Va Beach, VA

Re: 222 stinger speed...

BTW, boat was really slow getting on plane with the 25 pitch prop, but would pull to over 5K and an indicated mid seventies on the VDO gauges. Boat was a handfull at that speed. Chine walked and vague steering, So IMHO, hull doesn't do well at speed.

Re: 222 stinger speed...

I "had" a 202 with 400 SB 430 Hp @ 6,400 rpm would go 78 mph and anything above 65 was a near death experience - Boating mag years ago reported this as the worst handling boat ever........three seat across - I had fun -

Re: 222 stinger speed...

I had the only 1986 outboard 222 Stinger made. 300 GT Johnson would run 70 mph. You would have to drive it thru the chine walking.

Re: 222 stinger speed...

Only one outboard version in 1986, they made some in prior years and didn't want to build mine, offered me an 454 I/O version.
