Couldn't you put a MERC 377 Scorpion small block in yours instead of building up your motor. Dont know what your gona spend, but at least you would have a warranty. And yes the big block is fer sale.

Actually all you have to do to your 260 HP 350 is change crank and pistons and youd have a 377 Cubic inch more torque and similar rpm range This is a trick merc has caught on to last year. I beleive merc buy's all its engine parts and assembles the motors them selves ( to have better control over tolerances I'm told) so now that Ohio and Scatt both make a 3.75 stroke crank for a 350 block (instead of a 3.480) they buy cranks to upgrade the GM 350 to a 377. I have a 400 in the Bay liner I bought last summer and I loved it (since bought a stinger so it's for sale ) every one said you can't put a 400 in a boat it will not work or last , but I beg to differ I ran the ass off it and it worked great! Cruse 42 @ 3600 all afternoon 50 wide open .
