How strong is an OMC outdrive?

Thanks for the input dave. Havent really made up my mind.
Like I said before the boat is to dependable to screw with, Ill probably leave it alone. Would like to surprice a few Merc's , even if it was only for a few seconds.

Guy i boat with tried that...Ifv you dont prop for it you hit the rev limiter. If you do prop for it it sucks the other 98% of the time. Either way he never got around me. We never raced for 10 seconds tho...Who does {In a Boat}

if it isnt the king cobra dont do it... the std cobra uses a std V6 OB gear set and isnt up to much more than 400 HP over the long term.. th king can hold more due to a heavier design but I still wouldnt press your luck...

omc makes a strong drive but if its not a king i wouldnt do it. i had a king cobra and i couldnt find anybody that could get parts for it. and its not just a parts thing. if you dont have a mech. that knows omc, i will never be right.
