First problem with the new boat Chris Stinger 260
After looking for awhile, I finnaly bought a 1985 260 Stinger. Ive had it for a few weeks now. Had my first problem yesterday. The drive coupler on the starboard engine spun. Im going to order a new one this week and replace it over the weekend. Anyone have any tricks, tips or suggestions for a quick pull of the engine? I have the ability, tools and a hoist where I can do all the work. Thanks Dan

Hi Dan. did you get the coupler fixed? they are actually very easy if the engine is "as merc installed" i did one of mine in about 3 an a half hours or so start to finish. luckily you have a ton of working room in the bilge.

Dave, I was going to fix it, but took it down to have new covers and a new interior made for it. I plan on pulling both engines over the winter and replacing both couplers at the same time. Then I can really clean and detail the engine compartement. Other than that, the boat is great! Dan

Tim, sorry for not keeping in touch. I was out of town two weekends ago and this past weekend we had a birthday party at the house for my wife's aunt. We are thinking of a Kelleys trip this weekend. Most likely Saturday afternoon (sept 30th). Let me know what your up to. Dan

Re: First problem with the new boat Chris Stinger 260
I took my Chris Craft cabin cruiser and the old blue Olsen out of the water Saturday morning, got em winterized and pressure washed. We ended up going to Put In Bay Saturday night instead of Kelleys. We watched the OSU game at the Brewery and then stuck around for the Ray Fogg show. Ended the night with a Frosty's Pizza and headed home. The weather was nicer than I expected on Sunday so I took advantage of it and shrink wrapped the big Chris. Did you go to Kelleys on Sunday? Dan
