I tore the transom out from wood but had delamination in fiberglass on top of the hull... funny thing is, there is some sort of ... not sure what... but seems like some type of... glue?
or is it simply salt water intrusion that the salt dried there? Have'nt taste it thought... what could it be? Does not matter what is is in reality since it is a ground up resto but....

Finally found something with some real bite! I had like a good big 1/4 thick to eat and neither 36 or 24 grit was rough enough! It would take me like 1 hour per sq ft but now i did like 3 sq ft in like 45 min!
its almost fun !

Transom is done! Very nice tool !
ground out or cleaned out the under tank section too... can you say balsa cored hull bottom? Sure yeah! And hull side are foam cored... i could see some black thru the laminated showing the balsa... thought it could have been rotted from the black... but i came direct on the balsa on three spots with very very light grinding... its not rotten but the balck comes from the space in between the balsa pieces... maybe it was a little dry laminated? Whats your thought?

Sooooo... much later!
I spent a 30 min and dug the cabin floor... friends would tell me: it tested dry why would you take the floor out?? I would answer because i wanted to see, and know every inch of the boat, make sure everything is super clean, no debris, no oil stains, so on and so forth...
well !
happy i did !
mice had built there home in there! Needs to be cleaned up!

surprisingly the underfloor was not glassed but still in very good shape! The pictures shows much more black than in reality. There is no rot and it is very solid! But i will put new floors in anyways, glassed both sides
