OK guys, holidays are over and I'm still not getting any PM's from anyone. When/If each of you that own a Bullet has a few minutes, could you please send me the following info via PM on this website? I'll put it together onto a spreadsheet with links to photos. It would be interesting to have the info in a single place to fill in the Bullet production history and to find out where fellow Bullet owners are. If you do not want to give out the info, could you please PM me and tell me so, and at least give me your hull number to help piece all the puzzle parts together. I do plan to start sending out PM's to known Bullet owners when I get a chance. Any name you chose (real or nickname) but prefer real email address General boating area (ie Keys, LOTO, Hampton Roads, etc) Phone Number (optional) HIN number year power drives props Speed Mods and or upgrades 1 to 3 pics of boat (Claymates accepted) |
Well, today I didn't have anything going, so I tried to find as many Bullet owners on this site and I sent out PM's requesting the info in the previous post.
I apologize for any disruptions, but I think this could help lots of Bullet owners, by providing a source of info that may help owners who may want to mod or upgrade their Bullet since it's been over a decade when the last one came off the production line. Thanks for any assistance you guys can provide. |
For any Bullet shoppers out there... I dropped by Raymond's at LOTO this weekend and snapped some pics of the Bullet for sale there.
http://rides.webshots.com/album/562293423VBLSZT I'm quite the amateur, but here's my take: - Cabin looked good to me. - Cockpit looked original and needing some attention. Obviously some wood rot issues in the back seat. - Engine compartment looked clean. - Hull had white bottom paint. I should have taken close-ups of it. Might be covering something? Hull overall looked good, but I'm no expert, so I could be missing something. - Some repaint here and there that wasn't great. I wouldn't give $38k for it, but it looked like a decent upgrade-while-ya-drive Bullet. If I'm missing something, please speak up. :cool-smiley-011: |
Bottom paint??? Uggh!! Wood rot??? Ugghh. Sure might be a work in progress to buy and fix up, but why bother?? Mine is turn key and ready to go, and for less than you'd have in this one by the time you get it to level mine is. Fresh 502s, fresh American flag paint job, updated interior, updated dash with new gauges, throttles and shifters, aluminum swim platform with swim ladder, new Alpine stereo and lots more. Any real buyers out there???

FYI... I didn't show up as a serious buyer for this boat. I like the Bullets and wanted to check it out for myself. Just sharing what I saw with the Cig folks on this wonderful forum. :cool-smiley-011:

Someone else on this site was looking at that boat. Like Keytime said, I wouldn't pay 38K for it, but if they would take an offer about 20%-25% less, that would make a good project boat. If I had 50+K to spend, I would have looked at one of the finished boats on here for sale when I bought mine, but many just can't stretch the budget that far and still be able to buy fuel and have fun in it. Plus, when you get to the 60-70K mark, you can find some Cafe's in that price range.
Lakeluvr, what kind of speed do you get with the 502's? |

Didn't you think the engines/compartment looked clean and tidy? What transom/gimbal issue did you see? |

I heard the motors are fresh. Being non-Mags doesn't help, but again, for the right price, I don't think it's the end of the world.
