Exhaust On a Cafe

I have stock Merc manifolds and risers on my Cafe (502 Mag motors) the local shop says CMI's won't fit due to engine cover, and are pushing IMCO's. They say the stock manifolds will cause a problem due to they are straight back with no incline of the exhaust and water will enter the motor. I would like to see what others are using and if they have experienced any problems with reversion.

Thanks-
Chris

I have older CMIs. Engines are not stock, but they are in the stock locations. The exhaust fits under the hatch with no problem. My problem was the blowers...

Do you have the standard risers on yours, it looks like you have an "angled" spacer between the manifold and the riser? Mine had Gils Dry's at one time the outlets are till there.

Nope...just standard risers. They are wet, but there are washers welded in the fittings to limit the water (and try to build some block pressure).

I have CMI elbow tops and a stock engine hatch. No problem. Sounds like someone needs to move some IMCO inventory...

Oh, and sorry to hear about that blower "problem"
