The ones that porpoise usually have an operator that runs too much trim at cruise!

I had a 86 and it never porpoised.

Best boat I ever had.

Twin 400 Merc Cyclones and honest 63 mph with TRS drives and factory cleaver props.

Just to clear things up here, I'm not saying the boat porpoises ALL THE TIME and you cant control it. You just need to run tab with it to get it to stop. All of you are telling me you can run your Cafes w/no tab and have no porpoise? I guess the three Cafe's I've had exprerience with were just built different

Not doubting your experiences, just relaying mine. I have yet to find a way to make mine porpoise, it rides well at pretty much all speeds and trims settings. I have rarely used the tabs, not much need to, usually just leave them even with the hull.
