30 ft Vice info, what to look for?
 

I have a good friend that is buying a 30ft Vice from LipShip. It is a twin 525 boat.

Sell is contingent on his test drive, probably this Sat.

Can you experts on Cigs give any pointers, or things he needs to look for, or questions to ask.

Please no comments on buy a used 38 TG... for same price.

Do to room for backing up, covered garage... a 30 is what would be most practical.

Never been in one Jan, but I can tell you that I would rather buy 3 older 31' Bullets that one new 30' Vice!!

No questions or things to look out for that I know of. If Phil built it he will give you the low down on everything good or bad. He has always been very honest with me about any boats he has even if it's not all positive.

New boat, 525's with ITS. Boat has an unbelivable paint job. Phil told my buddy last weekend boat was running 92mph.

should be a monster with 525s! drove one with 496s in April and we hit 80 way under propped and should have run about 84. You might squeeze a few more mph out of the 525 version....

If you are buying new, and from Phil, the only thing you need to look for is your checkbook. Nice boat from the right dealer.Buy it and enjoy it.

If he buys the boat he should spend a weekend in Miami running the boat to make sure it does not have any issues that would cause it to go back to the factory for warranty work. I would hate for the boat to come all the way to SC and find out later he has to take it back. My Playboy had to go back and get some tweaks. Besides he could have a great weekend in the South Florida enjoying his boat. Vice has a small cockpit and is tall dollars for a 30 footer! With 525's hope your friend has some experience under his belt. Who is the lucky guy?

I have seen this boat in person and it is UNBELIEVABLE!!!! The paint job is really tricked out and I know your buddy will not be disappointed. The stero system is out of this world, and detail on the boat is above normal for a Lip-Ship Edition boat. I have bought 3 cigarettes from Phil and they just keep on getting better every time I buy one. Good luck to your friend on his new Boat.

How did everything go with Lip-Ship and your Friend? Was it everything that he was expecting and more? I am interested about the top speed, so if he went for a ride let me know. Tell him to post some pics if he has any....

what to look for have you friend look at the 2001 gun with sixes and 1000hp zuls it will cost about 15k more than the vice and is twice the boat. how much will a new vice depriciate as soon as it used? 35%..where the gun will hold its value a lot better

The Lip Ship Mystique above is now owned by a buddy of mine. He keeps it at my house. I've spent quite a few hours in this 30' Mystique and man, what a fun boat and handles incredibly well. I blew an XR drive in it at 97 mph and it didn't do anything funny. :eek: :D

If you are limited to a boat in the 30' range the Vice/Mystique its real sweet high-end ride. I feel its one of the best made 30' boats out there.

His test went very well. They ran 92 with mufflers on, last Friday. Phil is sending the trailer back to get tool boxes and another spare mounted. Boat should be ready for delivery early January.

Yes, "They" (Cig/Skip) originally said no options, 496's w/the "stock" paint.

Phils a customizer though. I'm sure it bumped the price up just a bit..... :D

I bet that boat looks ten times better in person. It certainly has some nice colors going on . While I personally wouldn,t do the cockpit in those colors, overall I like the boat. Good luck with it.

It was thoroughly dissasembled, shipped down to Harold at Grafikworx for paint, Lip Ship for a few other details and completely re-rigged with fresh power. In short, it was put back in service by the best in the business with no expense spared.

It's a real sweet rig, handles great.

I've had fantasy upon fantasy about that boat since those first pics were posted some time ago.
Now, a question for you Cig fans...
What's the difference between the later step Mystique, (like the one shown) and the new Vice ??
