can anybody explain to me WTF being an election year has to do with buying a boat????????? Good thing last year was a leap year, and not this year because we all know nobody buys boats during a leap year..........

pm203 03-02-2009 08:04 PM

Believe it or not, there are alot of people who stay in limbo, or on the sidelines waiting to see what will happen (economy-wise) after the election.

302Sport 03-02-2009 08:17 PM

and if they didnt buy before cause they were waiting to to see what was going to happen with the economy, they sure as hell arent pulling that money out right now. Bush left us with a problem, Obama now has created a crisis, and the people who get paid the most to predict where our economy is heading say this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as the decline of the economy goes.......

With all the BS on TV and people buying into it, this will further scare people and things will take forever to get better.

cigrocket 03-03-2009 07:41 AM

I agree, the media isn't helping. There are also quite a few people making offers on boats that really aren't in the market, to see how low somone will go. I feel that "Buyers" have money ready to get it done if a offer is accepted.

302Sport 03-03-2009 08:35 AM

:Whatever: Im not listening to any media, Im just going by the simple facts and policies which Obama is providing us with......The facts are that there is 270% more money in circulation than 5 months ago and still nothing is getting better, the $800 billion did nothing yet so they are talking about another $800 billion to throw out there, lets get started on Obamas Robin Hood tactics of steal from the rich and give to the poor.......this guy is a joke and everybody is starting to already see it, his approval rating is dropping faster than the DOW and he has asked for more money in his first 6 weeks than all of the presidents combined since George Washington, if you ask me things are looking awesome

pm203 03-03-2009 09:47 PM

After reading the 2001 T/S Topgun thread, Blumes Gladiator has appreciated. Buy it now before the next price increase!

Thare sure are NO boats that are appeciating but would'nt he just be better off listing it at "135k" firm if that is what the seller really wants, rather than all these "cuties" that list and quote high and then get insulted with a lowball? Or the others that "all of a sudden" leave the price off and ask for "all reasonable and serious offers will be considered, "not a fire sale but will negotiate" ? WTF!!! does that mean If it was me ...I'd have a new broker and I am not looking to offend anybody

while sitting on the sidelines with no desire for a "sit down" , I would GUESS that PM's would sell first, Not that I believe any are "PRICED RIGHT"... but please do not count out the Las Vegas Glad that use to be Enrique's Glad which CAN be had for 120k or less? however i do not know how it compares to these 3 but do know that 2 of the 3 ARE overpriced!!! :food-smiley-007:

dreamer 03-04-2009 07:55 PM

that boat sold at 120k this weekend i believe... dont know if it closed

without seeing it in person, i was under the impression that it was the best bang for the buck out there, which i believe in this economy is the ONLY way to purchase a pre owned boat today Brand new or a Philly "remake" is a different animal but just my opinion? :food-smiley-007:

bmanafort 03-05-2009 05:55 AM

I dont think you are comparing apples to apples with enriques glad and pms. I personally wouldnt buy a boat without merc power. Just by comparing pictures they dont even look like the same boat. Pm looks BRAND NEW and what a paint job.

joefitness123 03-05-2009 06:12 AM

If I was to go through the whole list of Glads...Yes they are all nice...Some with big power, some with merc power..But they all have something to offer as far as price goes..They are all nice and have different characteristics..As for which one is nicer...One has to go and see them all then come to there own conclusion. Some look better in pics and some look great in person. As for pricing, they all fall into the same category, everybody wants a deal.So to say one is priced better than another is irrelevant unless one has seen them all..But I do agree, there are some real nice boats out there..:ernaehrung004:

joefitness123 03-05-2009 06:14 AM

Bma,

Nice boat you bought...I was in the market for that one at one point...good job on your purchase..:drink:

What would be a number you'd consider "priced right", for any of the three? I'm just curious how far off you perceive the asking prices to be, from what you'd like to realistically be in the boat for.

joefitness123 03-05-2009 02:28 PM

The one to have, is the one you can buy, not the one you lowball and never get..As for the price...I am looking to buy a 2006 46 Rough Rider with Twin 1075's for 225k...Oh, and under 50 hours with a custom paint job...and #6's...:ernaehrung004:

Well the fact is that one, Ithink we all know is available with trailer for 135k and "HAS NOT" sold, "should tell you something", that it is "quite possibly OVERPRICED" !! Pm's is most likely the BREAD WINNER here, and although I do not think that 162k and 150k gets any of these boats sold.... The boats in question were how much new??? What is the problem with boat owners, they don't know what DEPECIATION means. Now if the Vegas Enrique boat, sold and I know that I am not comparing apples to apples I understand, but that could be a pretty good barometer.Especially with ALL the Glads on the market? JUST "MY" opinion so, :Whatever:

Blee, well said..I agree..:ernaehrung004:

joefitness123 03-05-2009 02:37 PM

Once again, one CANNOT compare any of them, they all are similar boats, but with totally different characteristics...one has never said that the market is favorable, but to through a ridiculous number just to see what happens is not good..I am sure that if a serious buyer comes with a good number, the boats would sell..

joefitness123 03-05-2009 02:39 PM

then again, everybody is entitled to there own opinion..

lucky strike 03-05-2009 05:43 PM

If you want to make someone a real offer on anything no matter what the offer is, put it in writing with a deposit subject to this this & this

If it's accepted with the terms stated, your on your way to a deal...... Money talks...B.S. stays on the dock watching.

........and that boys & girls is how you make a deal. Someone is highly more likely to give consideration to a written offer w/ a nice fat deposit, rather than an anonymous email that says, "Will you take $150,000.00 cash?"
