Worst case scenario, you buy it "cheap", and do the rebuild on the 1075's for piece of mind. Once that's done, there's nothing else to worry about besides having a total blast with it. :ernaehrung004:

what would be cheap on this?

It's at Hideaway on consignment. It is Japanese owned.

And it's bad as a MOFO.....:evilb:

Oh cool. I just didn't want anyone to think the "boat" had anything wrong with it. :ernaehrung004:

I don't know why they went under actually. I've heard all kinds of stories of course, but they have all been bits & pieces of what actually happened I'm sure.

I don't think it can be bought for a very good deal to be honest, and definitely not a fire sale deal. The guy is pretty firm on his price, and it wasn't a low number the last time I checked. I'd be surprised if it sells this year, unless he decides to just dump it.

DollaBill 03-06-2009 02:42 PM

I heard he has enough of Cigs and is looking into a nice Hunter 40

Value Explanations

Prices shown are retail consumer values and to be considered as selling prices. Trade-in and loan values are confidential for our dealers and industry base subscribers. Trade-in values are to be determined by local dealers and are generally lower than values shown.

Suggested List – We have included manufacturers' suggested retail pricing (MSRP) to assist in the financing, insuring and appraising of vessels. The MSRP is the manufacturers' and/or distributors' highest suggested retail price in the U.S.A. when the unit was new. The MSRP is furnished by the manufacturer and/or distributor and are assumed to be correct. Unless indicated, the MSRP does not include destination charges, dealer set-up, state or local taxes, license tags or insurance.

Low Retail Value — A low retail valued boat will show excessive wear and tear either cosmetically and/or mechanically. This boat may or may not be in running order. The buyer can expect to invest in cosmetic and/or mechanical work. Low retail vessels usually are not found on a dealer's lot. Low Retail should not be considered a trade-in value.

Average Retail Value — An average retail valued boat should be in good condition with no visible damage or defects. This boat will show moderate wear and tear and will be in sound running condition. The buyer may need to invest in either minor cosmetic or mechanical work.

Note: Vessels in exceptional condition can be worth a significantly higher value than the Average Retail Price shown.

All things else being equal, boats that have rolled and soaked raise concerns and I would expect them to offer such a boat at a pretty good discount.

I notice that the ad doesn't make any mention of the boat's history and the price sure as heck doesn't reflect that it was once a U Boat. . I wonder if they mention the accident to perspective buyers?

Thanks for pointing out the history.
