this engine Swap is a bad idea.. at least plan on new headers & rigging parts all add up fast..$$$ but then again keep the Sterlings.. plan on making Dean your new best friend $$$.. when you account these factors my offer is fair whether Blume wants to believe it of not.. Just my 02ct... Jeff |
Again good luck with the sale, it is a nice boat all in all.

I told the owner about your offer several days ago when you PM'ed me with it and the things he said about it...............well I think you know. There was no reason to respond to such a low offer. So the offer was taken to the so called "owner" and he said NO, as far as my job, well who else do you see trying to push a boat at a reasonable price???? So, I guess I did at least everything you would want...........but I have some new rules for a few of you guys: contract with a deposit, or it's not an offer!! |

Hey Blume... Don't get you panties in a wad.... You should never be offended by someone's offer.... Custom has every right to try and buy this boat as inexpensive as possible, particularly in this environment . Isn't that what he is supposed to do???? I could be totally wrong but I suspect you are not getting many offers these days... Remember... A low ball offer is always better then no offer at all..... And Yes I agree..... No offer is worth presentation without a deposit... A real buyer should always be prepared put his Money where his mouth is....

i dont really understand all the hate towards sterlling... do thses motors have a history?? i would think sterlling you would not have such a problem.... like ive stated many times... ill walk on a merc boat and always look to the custom power first... i know its not the norm but, i trully dont get all the merc loving going on with this boat... for sure its one of the nicer glads built... all in all, its just a buyers market and if your selling in this market, seller is gonna have to really take it in the shorts... more so than he already is... good luck with the sale.....

I have to say I never get involved in any of the usual oso drama but some of you guys are brutal! This boat is a great deal @ 135000 and everybody here knows it. I myself would buy it but with the state of the economy, I refuse to be a two boat owner. As far as Blume goes, I spoke with him last week and he seemed like a good guy doing just about as much as he could possibly do to sell his clients boats! I do think they would take any" reasonable" offer but the problem is he priced the boat so right that there is not a lot of room to move. My personal feeling is that if the boat was listed at 115000 some of you guys would only want to pay 100000! I am not trying to piss anyone off but give the guy a break. Imho anyone buying this boat should not redo with different motors. There are not alot of these boats built that way from the factory and too many pieces of junk out there already. By the way Blume call me maybe you can sell my boat for me and I will buy this from you for 135000! I have the cash waiting and I promise not to dismantle it!

stecz, Thanks!!!......................I never thought of you as a voice of reason???????????????? |
I agree.... Loe seems like a very straight up guy and in reading this thread this boat seems like a real nice piece... One question?? Any concerns about the drives on boat??? I had a 38 Gun with 700 Zul's and I broke 3 drives in the 24 months I owned it.... My Gun was a fun, bad ass ride so I imagine that this Glad is really fast.... :Score-101010:

The boat has had one drive fix on it from what I'm told by the guy that owned it last and the service center that did the work for the first owner. My experience with the 36' is it is easier on drives than the 38' because of the weight difference?? |

That boat is a super deal at 135,000 and the only reason its not gone is because we are in a recession. When things straighten out hopefully the boat market will too. By the way here is the picture of the silver glad sunk and after sunk.

Jeff Some of you guys make me laugh. You are like buzzards circling around your prey. It used to be that you had to have big balls to buy a performance boat like this. But, at $135K, it takes no balls. You could buy this boat, use it for several seasons, and lose very little, if any at all. Its a no-brainer. Its about as risk-free as a performance boat can get, (dollar-wise). Blume owes no one any apologies, and if you make a ridiculous offer on this boat, you don't deserve the time of day. The boat is already priced for the current market conditions, give or take several thousands. If Blume is including the trailer, which I think he is, you are actually buying the boat for $125K. HELLO!?? |
Well said PM. I am getting sick and tired of people talking about how everything for sale is not worth anything. Let these vultures actually make a deal and BUY a boat.

Im Just giving my opinion.. if he can find a buyer at 135 thats great! the price is just to high for me...

On a lake, where I think you would use your boat, the drives should hold up fine. Plus, the way you take care off your stuff, and the way you would use it, my guess is that you would be fine. If you were thrashing it hard, consistantly in big water, I could see your concern. I still say that this boat has the potential to be as close to risk-free as performance boating can get. But, being a boat owner, you know that things can happen, new or used. But, as they say, no guts, no glory. |

I think 750's are ok on XR's if you know how to run a boat.
But also ,,a friend of mine would trade you the engines . He has sealed 525's about 70 hours on one and 45 hours on the other. Out of a raceboat. The only problem you would have to wait untill Feb./Mar. |
