525s were 200-225k new(some early ones were 190k)

five years later they r not 150k boats... and the examples i gave r the market in the last six months... now what r they today? mint or not

I don't know if this boat will go down 5% per year??? and I know it won't if the market firms any at all??

pm203..........help me out some here, I am a little slow at math.
2003 525 Gladiator w/525's (92mph) $111,000.00 and we don't know if it sold that cheap, plus a used Myco at $10,000.00: your total cost is like $121,000.00...........Am I right so far? Now a nice low hour 2 owner freshwater 2005 36' Gladiator w/super sweet 750HP Sterling's (108mph) and a Myco trailer for $135,000.00, take 5% depreciation a year. 1st year value $128,250.00 and the second year is $121,837.50...........thats with-in $837.50??? Help me here if my math is wrong?? But this Gladiator is a SUPER GOOD VALUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even dreamer thinks the 2003 is cheap, so that makes the one I have, "Merry Christmas"

pm203 12-05-2008 04:18 PM

Your math looks good! We know your boat is a bargain. If you consider the trailer, your boat is being sold for $125K!But, what I don't understand, is that if Dreamer had a survey on the 03 Glad, and he really liked that boat alot, how did he lose it at $111K?? Why not pay a little more, and come home with the boat?

Wild 12-05-2008 04:19 PM

personally i think its a steal, the difference in paint and interior alone is worth the difference in price

and i also think that if you (blume) had it listed for 125k then they would be saying it was only worth 115k and thats all they would pay

great boat, great price, wish i needed one, that would be it

I say if you really want to sell it now then put it up for auction and let it be known to everybody. That will tell you what the boat is worth. You may not like the outcome but atleast the boat will be gone and everyone can quit arguing about what the boat is worth. If the owner is not in a bad financial position and you really believe in your statement that the market will firm up after the holidays, then why not sit on it for another 3-4 months. Anyways, Good luck with the sale. I know i had hell finding a buyer.

thisistank 12-05-2008 05:07 PM

You guys are funny....Bottom line, with everything considered (economy, year of the boat, winter, etc):

Boats worth what someone will pay for it.

No need to argue about it. Buy one, don't buy one...Sell it, don't sell it...Arguing isn't going to change anything.

pm203 12-05-2008 05:16 PM

Who says we are arguing? We are discussing and voicing our opinions. You want to cut the Screamin Eagle loose for $10k?

:evilb::grinser010:

The Screamin Eagle is sold!! And I didn't listen to those guys who said, "the markets soft, it isn't worth the price, I have cash in hand (5k less than asking), etc. etc." Sold for what I was asking minus 1k...

Proving my point exactly...There's a buyer for every sale. Someone may have to have the blue glad and pay 150 or whatever. Someone may have to have Blumes and pay his price. Either way, trying to justify it either way isn't going to change anything. Things will sell to whomever is willing to pay the price.

But by all means....Carry on.:drink:

I suggest we carry this on in the Outerlimits forum. We can really do some slashing there.

Thats right, no arguing here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know what the boats worth and so do a lot of people that are calling and sending emails and wanting to come and look at it, because they know it's a great deal at this price.

Biggus 12-06-2008 05:42 AM

You guys are killin' me :angry-smiley-038: Why would you want to trade out a pair of Sterling 750's with big tube real headers for a pair of used 525's fitted with the piss poor Mercury/CMI headers ???

We all know that most 525's have leaky pipes by about 40 hrs. Why would these 150 hr used 525's be any different.

If I was a buyer for this boat I'd be interested in it for the power that's in it. Not a hodge podge of swapped out stuff.

...just my opinion on this cold Sat morning :drink:

Beautiful boat by the way, I've got a bunch of pics of it from the Smoke On the Water '05 run.

I wish I was in the position to give it a home.

I agree with you and Skramer...............I would want it just like it is if I were buying it, it is a great running boat. Just trying to get a deal done for the seller. If this buyer want 525's and I can do swap and still get it sold for the customer, that's what we'll do. BUT, to alter the boat the new buyer needs to own it.

twin screws 12-06-2008 09:18 AM

I thought you said you owned the boat.

one question that cashbar brought up... so the headers match up for the 525 swap or is this a complete engine and header swap?

I don't think the headers will match up to a 525 .

BINGO!

dreamer 12-06-2008 02:30 PM

the ebay glad is sold... just got email from seller... guess it was a legit auction

sellers confuse me... we battled over 10g an extra set of props and some needed drive work.... i was at 130 he was at 140

does the work needed

then dumps it 30gs cheaper

By the way, that same particular Gladiator, hit 95 MPH ( verified by Phil) with Hering 5 blades.
