All seem to have had twin 250 E-Tecs. I love the one I bought 3 years ago off of Flea-bay. Was new in 1997, and repowered in 2006. Ill try to have a friend post a pic.......Bill S

marlago, marlin and Dakota were out of a 36' wide body mold too.

but is it possible that they have painted an ocean hawk to make it look like one of the 12 cigarettes? because the photo to start post of Cig 6 is just the boat in my possession, I have recognized it from many details .. it's just that
Help me to shed light on this mystery, thank you

read the details upthread. It sounds like cig let ocean hawk make them and put the "1" on the side.

I have this exact boat in Curacao, Dutch antilles, Just had it completely redone (upholstery, new paint job and repowered with twin Mercury Verado's 300) I'll post new pictures soon.
Any additional info about this boat or model is very welcome :)

Hi there, I'm a big Cigarette fan, and a few weeks ago I bought the only Cig 33 cafe open in Italy.
Unfortunately, the boat has suffered damages by the storm there was in Rapallo in October.
I will happy if anyone will post new pictures of his Cig 33 / Ocean Hawk
I'm undecided about the colour/paint job if restore the original or make a new one, maybe charcoal hull with black and white and silver upper deck...

did you ever figure out your fuel tank issue?

OldSchool 11-02-2025 07:03 PM

Just finished a restoration on my '99 Cafe Open over the last year. New fuel tank, Bottom paint removed, entire boat painted by Dave Hunter, new cockpit interior, new cabin interior, radar arch and leaning post stripped and powdercoated, new 300 V-8 Mercs, new trailer, new GPS. The new engines make it a completely different boat!!. I also replaced every piece of stainless hardware and those rubber caps on the toggle switches. Have put 35 hours on her... and enjoyed every minute. We kept the paint scheme the same due to the heritage, but changed up the colors to make it a little more vibrant. I love it!

Very Nice!!! It’s like a new boat. You bringing it to KW?

Looks great! Glad to hear Dave is still painting, I climbed all over the matching Top Gun at Martin Marine about 25 years ago!

DUDE!!! That came out bad azz! Lets see the interior and dash upgrades. Cool you kept the OG paint. It is actually a pretty timeless paint job. Not too loud or to 'era specific'. I always liked it.

Glad you ended up keeping it. Daughter sold theirs through PBC.

scippy 11-03-2025 01:48 PM

I know a CC has a shorter front deck, but it looks higher than a full deck 35 cafe, ....is it a different deck for the CC cafe?...turned out great!

Long story,,, but I'll give you the short version. It's not the Cafe Racer mold used for the 12 that were built. It is the mold for the 33 Ocean Hawk, which was derived from a Midnight Express. The owner of Ocean Hawk had to go away for 5 years. Cigarette "stored" the molds for him while he was away with the understanding that they could pop some boats from it. Ocean Hawk and Cigarette had worked together before this with rigging, etc. That's why you see so many Ocean Hawks with Cigarette logos on them. The HIN tells the truth... the 12 actually have a CRT HIN

This is all that I have right now on that. Didn't change the cabin, just got rid of the skanky, stinky 26 year old headliner and vinyl. ;) As usual, Mike Mears at FineLine knocked it out of the park!!

Kick ass, what is the speed with the twin 300's?

I had also read on these forums that the Ocean Hawk built versions were a little faster.

The best that I've seen so far is 64.4... full of fuel. It ran 57 with the 250 2-strokes on it. The biggest difference that i see is at 4000 rpm's. It used to run 38, but with the new power, I'm seeing 45 at 4000 and burning less than half of the fuel at that speed. 22 gph at 45mph...

I am looking at a 1999 right now, needs everything.

Which one? True Cig? Or Ocean Hawk?

cigracing1 12-08-2025 07:28 PM

Cig Hull #1, have talked at length with Craig Berry about it.
