Post 33 Cafe Open pics
I'm wondering how many were built by Cigarette...I'm thinking of getting one eventually, so post pics here, let's get a count...Here's the ones I know of:
1. Living Legend paint - was in Hampton Bays...ended up on the beach and sold at auction several years ago 2. Rio Roses 3. "Endangered Species" 4. Saw the green/yellow/orange one on the 2004 Summer Fun Run to Claudios 5. "Jungle" boat - green/black/gold |

Re: Post 33 Cafe Open pics
cgarrett...Post 4 is the "living legend" boat from Hampton Bays...it has the same paint as the Living Legend Top Gun. thanks for posting pics.
the boat in posts 9 and 10 was listed for sale as a 1992 model. Is it a "CRT" boat or a Ocean Hawk? Has anyone seen the HIN? Is this the boat that is for sale in the 60K range? |
Re: Post 33 Cafe Open pics
I have a 1996 Powerplay with 2002 Optimax's for sale in the classifieds if you are interested. My boat is very similar to the ones you are looking at!

Re: Post 33 Cafe Open pics
You're right ---that does look like a good deal.
So what is that? 10 of the 12 made? |
Re: Post 33 Cafe Open pics
I think we are at 8.
The one in MD for sale and the pink one with triples above above are both Ocean Hawks. There is one other by me that I know of and it has a black hull. The owner supposedly had 2 of them at one time(one for his wife). he's since sold one of them and now has the black one. |
Re: Post 33 Cafe Open pics
what are you buying now sean... your wife must love you.....
|
Re: Post 33 Cafe Open pics
yeah...she loves me to a point...but i think i've passed that point 2 boats ago...

There was a 2000-2001 model with a baseball bat painted on the side in Tampa. They kept it a Home Port Marina in Dunedin. Later it was sitting at a boat yrad in Tampa near the Gandy Bridge. I looked at it in 2003 and it was totally not taken care of and just rotting away. I've never seen it since.

He just got the verado's put on this past winter and its amazing what it has done to the performance of the boat. Always felt sluggish with the 250's on it. Now i can't believe the difference, it lifts the boat right out of the water. Runs about 63 and great gas mileage too. |
Re: Post 33 Cafe Open pics
you guys are all going to be surprised real soon :D just wait and see shhhhhhhhhh

dbhammer: Very interesting information on the Verado performance difference. I think the Cigarette/Ocean Hawk hull would top out in the high 50's with the 250's -yes?
Come on with the spy pics already. It's no secret. "The new sport-fishing boat, which is expected to make its debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October, is perhaps Braver's biggest risk yet. Until now, Cigarette has focused exclusively on powerboats, the kind made famous by the hit TV show Miami Vice. Braver said he saw an opportunity to cater to some of Cigarette's wealthiest customers, who are likely to own not just one type of boat, but several. Two years in the making, the sport-fishing boat has enough names on a waiting list to sustain at least 24 months of production, he said. ''Our demographic is changing. Baby boomers are getting older,'' said spokeswoman Marilyn DeMartini. ``The husband might be out there ripping it up in the Cigarette, but the wife may want to go out and do something more mellow.'' |

Re: Post 33 Cafe Open pics
That's some improvement!

Re: Post 33 Cafe Open pics
I have a 2005 OceanHawk with the 250's and have ran 61.5 on GPS, albiet it was with the top closed and low fuel, but I had 4 adults on board. I can usually get 58-59 anytime.
Phil has built one with 250's that can get to 65. It is at a dealer in Key Largo. I saw it a couple weeks ago. New OceanHawks can get mid to high 60's with 275 verados depending on how much stuff you put in them. :drink: |

Saw this one yesterday here on LI. Sad to report that despite the owner dropping some serious coin on some 275 Verados, this boat is in need of some major TLC. It's a 99 like mine... |
