Default Mounting VHF Radio on Cafe

I have a old style (pre '90's) cabin, I need to know where were the VHF radios typically mounted? Lower part of dash, cabin, head? Pictures would be great!

Thanks

Is it flush mounted or surface mounted in the glove box?

I surface mounted one in the glovebox on the forward wall. Mounted the intercom adjacent to it. There is a Terminal Block with 12VDC in there to power up the unit.
