Default Does Anyone Own A Gladiator And......

Have A Family????

Is this boat only to go from point A to point B??? Is there storage if you go thru the deck hatch??

Thinking about my next boat, I'd love a Gladiator, but I am in Fire Island every weekend with chairs, cooler, kids, etc.

Is it possible??? Or need to skip to a TG???

Well, I guess it depends on how much you want to ruff it. There is plenty of storage up underneath the hatch if you want to soft pack it. The cockpit is pretty small in the staggered boats and the back seat isnt the best in big water. You could put a cooler up front but it would most likely turn over and it would be tough getting it through the hatch and not hitting the boat, a two person job but it could be done. It would also depend on how old the kids are and what kind of chairs. In our Gladiator it usually me 17yrs old and my Dad. As you said its pretty much a Point A to B boat so a Top Gun might suit you best so you could stand a move around in the cockpit and store your belongings in the cabin. When your ready to buy check out Lip-Ship Performance and Ocean Performance the two real Cigarette dealers. Hope this helps.

The Gladiator, as great and wonderful as it is, and as cool and awesome to cruise around in , is just not the most user friendly boat for a family. Sounds like you would be better off with a Topgun.

We really thought about a Gladiator and we have four in our family. The only reason we didn't buy one was mainly becuase the no rubrail and lack of freeboard. The sit down had a part to do with it, although, if we always boated in flat water we'd probably have one. They also seem a little tougher to re-sell than a Gun.

We ended up buying a Top Gun w/an empty cabin and have no regrets. The boat is awesome! It's just time for something else

I just purchased a Gladiator after owning a Top Gun and a Tiger.

You can carry stuff as long as you can fit it thru the front hatch. It is a lot more work docking w/o rubrails but can be done.

The difference is like going from a Caddy to a corvette.

I am very happy with the Gladiator as the ride and handling make up for the lack of space and storage. Can it be an everyday boat ?? Probably.. If you are willing to be a little inconvenienced

I love our Glad but I think you would be better off with a Top Gun with what you are describing. Best of luck.
