Default RIP Gladiator

The Gladiator is apparently near the end of the road at Cigarette. Too labor intensive was the one of the reasons mentioned.

Kinda sad to me. Next to the Maximus, that's probably my fav in the lineup.

Thoughts?

I wonder if you really want one and assuming they have the molds they would build it as a custom order. One of Ferrari's relatives has opened a factory supported resto shop. The shop has most of the old tooling to make parts, including body panels. The relative said one-day in the future they maybe willing to build a factory approved replica like Shelby is doing! Cig is small enough to offer simular construction of a one off for a customer.......

I don't realy know but I'm gonna guess at 80 to maybe 100.
I don't understand why they would ax them. It seems like OL is building alot more sit downs lately. You would think the market is relativly strong in that area if people are gonna spend the coin for an OL sit down.

Im pretty sure the last one built is the one that phil has, the Miami show boat. To me there's nothing better than a sit down vee bottom. I would never go back to a stand up, but the manufactures/consumers dont seem to think that same way except Outerlimits. It is sad though that we wont be seeing any new Glads roll out of the factory any more. Since the beginnig of this year Cigarette had it in their mind to stop production on the Gladiator. How many exactly did they build?? From what I know around 45 or so.

I heard that they were Phil's number 1 seller so I bet he can still get them.

Like anything else I'm sure if you got the dough they'd build it. They would get to charge a premium for that seeing how it would be a "custom build".

There was one more built after Phil,s Miami boat show boat . And......For the right amount of $$, I,m sure Skip would build you another one. Cigarette is trying to get more profitable and is decontenting some of their boats. A new Topgun comes with alot less equipment and detail than the older ones .Looks like the the strippy Sypder, has now become the standard TopGun.
