i just bought a 1991 42' cig revo with 3-588''-750hp hawk motors and ssm drives ,its an east coast boat named ''hard candy'' any info would be of help

That boat was owned by Art & Mike Girard (of the old Airborne race team) I think Phil from Lip Ship sold it to Art about 10 years ago.

That boat could go through a tidal wave! and man, does those 588's sound nasty!!!

thanks, how did it run?i heard they were a bit of a handful to drive,motors are out being redone,how fast was it ?

I think in its best day, it ran around 90. Never heard it was a handful to drive, just a busy boat with three of everything. You have to be an engineer to run that thing!

We have been restoring a 1990 with triples since fall of 04. it is almost done. Going to have triple 850-900hp s/c 555 engines, and are now tryin to get rid of it actually. Feel free to ask if you have any specific questions about it, as I have gotten very familiar with the model

Wasn't Hard Candy in one of the boating mags in its early years. I think I remember seeing it in Powerboat Magazine once upon a time.

hard candy was the name of the revo with twin 6s and i think merc 800s in the 90-91ish catalogs.
