Katz,

Thanks for the info. I heard a similar story from the guy I bought the boat from.

Beautiful boat!.

If you were to sell this, what do you think it would be worth after the reno and how much do you think the reno cost to get it to this standard?

US MUSL 05-20-2007 09:41 PM

priceb,

My guess is that it is worth somewhere in the $70-$80K range for someone who appreciates vintage hulls/this type of resto look. Non- Step Top Guns hold there value much better than Flatdecks.

The renovation was about $40K on top of the $37K I paid for the boat and trailer. Not to mention the hundreds of hours of labor I put into the project.

WOW,
Nice to see I am not the only one that thinks the flatdecks are worth the time and money to rebuild. I have a 84 Flatdeck with 525SC and #3's that was redone over the past two years. I cannot bring myself to put it on the market because God forbid someone will buy it. Congratulations on a job so very well done and its nice to see a peice of history turn into a piece of art!

I think your boat was bought thru Phil Lipschutz/Ron Doller by Mike Dever in Cinti who owns a number of auto dealerships thru parent company Automanage, Inc. Boat sat at Four Seasons Marina in Cinti for years, seldom left the marina. Mike had another boat(cruiser) at Four Seasons called Miss Manage.

The person who owned Utterly Fantastic was Andy Trauth a Cincinnati(Newport, KY) business person that owned a dairy processing plant called Trauth Dairy. His son(?) had a cat that was called The Utter Boat. Nice people!

This may help answer some questions on the history of your boat.

Katz

Darn, I remember this boat from Four Seasons then!
It indeed came there 1984 and I saw it there spanking new...it looks better than new now!
