Upon further review of the pics, those engines on the 1988 are NOT Merc 420HP's. Merc used Holley 4150 carbs on those and used aluminum valve covers. Of course, both of those could have be traded out, but why would you? I'd look real hard at the engines and get the skinny.

Also, don't put alot of value into the trailer. It needs a full recondition.

I like the one on yachtworld. Something about the dash that makes it look better.

Hell if your going to spend $38K why stop at a 31bullet. How about a 1988 38 Top Gun with blowers for $38,500. Looks like a good deal.

A little too good to be true. I don't know anything about the boat, but I thought it might be worth looking into. Probobly a good project or somebody might just be looking to dump it before the winter.

In a recent local HRPA poker run that included some pretty rough water in the ocean leg, only 15-20 boats of the more than 60 that ran completed the ocean part of the run. Of the ones that did, my best guess would be 50% of those were Cigs. I believe in front of me were a couple of Formulas, a Sunsation, and maybe one or two others. And ALL of them were longer than my Bullet.

That pretty much says it all....

No comparison. For starters a Formula 311 will probably have the built in swim platform, which means it is functionally a shorter boat. A boating friend after riding in my Cig the first time, commented that it was the best riding boat of that size he had ever been in. Then a couple of weeks later he rode with me to the Shootout When that thing breaks up on Saturday it is a zoo trying to get out of there. Anyway after fighting all the traffic and waves and wakes we made it back home and his comment was: I take back what I said about being the best riding 30 foot boat I've ever been in, IT is the "BEST" riding boat I've ever been in. And that includes another friends 35 foot Formula that he had ridden in.

Good Cig Bullet info! I'm looking to downfalls to these boats and can't find any.

i don't know of anything that compares in a 31 foot boat and its ideal for a rough lake like loto. small enough to trailer, small enough to manuever around the docks, heavy and long enough to not get beat to death on weekends, great resale value, great lines, enough room in the bilge that you dont have to stand on your head to change plugs. the only downfall is they are heavy and require HP to move them but its weight is also what gives the good ride.
