I'm looking to see if anyone is running a mild mannered engine combo with a set of prochargers or whipples and what kind of speeds are you running. I'm talking about the non-step top guns btw. I know if i pick up a top gun i wanna keep the engine package small and reliable and possibly add a blower later.

Dave Anderson (Mikaylahuntercig) ran a straight top gun with pro-charged 502's I believe. PM him. He'll be able to give you all the running details.

my friend ran a 95 tg 502 and wipples xr drives and 32pitch props,
max speed 83, then both engine crapped out, he only got about 100 hrs out of the set up. he repowered with 525's

Actually mine had 500efi's w/ procharger M1
Top speed was about 80ish...+

BTW- My set had about 200 hours when i sold the boat 3 years ago and the new owner has added another 200 hours !!!

Ok so the 500's were fairly reliable then. Did the blowers affect fuel assumption by a whole lot at cruising speeds?

Not while cruising- with no boost the fuel consumption would be as a stock 500 efi.

once you hit boost the extra fuel pumps are activatied increaseing fuel pressure and fuel flow / consumption
