Project Bullet

katrina sinker. never get the mold out. shame.....
|
That's been around for at least a year and a half. I won't be that worried about mold, it would be rot and possibly every electrical connection in the whole boat.
That being said, the boat is still worth something, and if it passed a survey would make someone a good project boat. Is 20 grand a decent price for 502 crate motors? I thought that was a little high? |
bullet project
What's the history on this boat? Anybody seen it?
|
I just had a couple of emails and some pics from the guy. Never saw it in person. Anyone on here seriously thinking about it?
|
I was considering it semi-seriously. According to the owner, who is a Sea Tow Captain, the boat was in a dry stack marina during Katrina. He bought it directly from the owner, not the insurance company. He "never did anything with the motors" because he intentions were to install the new 502's. When asked if the boat was underwater, his response was, "I can't say for sure, the marina was in a flood zone though." In my mind, that was a veiled "yes."
Anyone care to shed any light on this boat? I'd buy it if someone could tell me for sure that it wasn't underwater . . . I have power ready and waiting for it . . . Harry |
I was told exactly what the previous post said. Cig35, from your location, are you close enough to check it out one weekend with a surveyor?
|
I'm in Florida - the boat is in Mississippi.
If I were to get real serious about it, I would survey it. Thanks, Harry |
Im gonna guess the boat was underwater. some of the pics that were sent to me showed the water lines in the cabin. and most of the guages are full of water. He is supposed to send me some more pics. the motors most likely are still full of water. nothing was ever done to them. gonna be a project!! What do you guys think its worth??

Add it up: Engines drives wiring cabin cockpit seats/bolsters gauges hours of labor misc others......... That's not even taking into consideration if the hull and transom are intact. The $$$ adds up quickly!!!! |
