I have a propeller guard for the drives.

Offers more protection than you will find on Mercury drives.

How do the drives counter rotate?
The rotation is handled within the drives themselves. One is RH and one is LH rotation with a standard rotation engine input.

Talked to Rick at Arneson and he said he can upgrade these to handle up to 1200 AND get you a TRS stand offf box to bolt directly on. Pricing seemed very reasonable.

Didn't know if you saw them in the classifieds.

I read another thread addressing that concern. Seems in a side by side powerplant configuation the notch is fine. In a staggered configuration (where the drives would be closer to the keel) the notch must be filled. Rik would know for certain.

I have asked this a few times and Rik did state the notch has to be filled in a staggered and referred to the Fountain race boat as an example, BUT....In some of the Fountain ads, they show the bottom of this boat and the notch is still there. See the Powerboat multi-page Fountain ads.

Why is a surface drive not a OEM option?
