Obviously the FL is WAY bigger but an F350 is WAY bigger than the Rover. Don't discount mass and stability. Or comfort- My white-knuckle experiences have disappeared since moving to the big truck.

I laugh when I see people jacking up their trucks and then wanting to tow max capacity with them. Stability will bail your ass out of a jam, why give it away?
I agree Chris but my point was if you are going to tow with an underrated vehicle it doesn't matter if you are 100 pounds overloaded or 1000 pounds overloaded. Your insurance company is going to disown you if there is a claim. My comment equating the Range Rover and 3/4 PU was somewhat tongue-in-cheek.

Mickeyboy is in Italy.......Ins and "legal" issues are certainly different over there. I'm also assuming he's looking to haul the thing out a couple times a year, not run around the country trying to hit a different event every weekend.

Maybe hiding the boat from his wife while he's hooking up with all his female employees!

Now that part I'll buy!!!!!!!!!!!

I realize he is in Italy. I'm just a firm believer in getting the right tool for the job. Loaded up with similar options there is virtually no difference in price from a 4X4 250 to a 2WD 350. Why not get the truck that is rated to tow the weight? I've towed boats with too small a truck. Now that I think back...

Navigator wouldn't suffice either. Stick with at least a Ford F-250, preferably an F-350 or a Dodge 2500 or preferably 3500. Same with the Chevrolet 2500/3500.

I will admit that I have hauled a Gun around with my Ram 1500 2wd, I prefer to do it with our Dually but sometimes I gotta do what I gotta do. I just wouldn't stretch going very far and I pretty careful at that. You can never tell what the clown next to you is going to do though. I'm going to try and look for a used med. duty truck when my 38 Fever is done. The gun isn't mine and we have gotten a F350 since that pick was taken

We had to pull ours with our 2004 Hemi Ram. Wasn't fun.

What about the Mercedes/freightliner/dodge Sprinter. They are all over Europe and have 3500 series with dual rear wheels. Those should be fairly readily available.
