One thing to consider is to take it out of Vegas area (I keep reading housing and economy is a real mess there and getting worse) and consign to quality broker physically in an area with hot boating season and negotiate on commission...

you could arguably raise price and pay fat commission that would get somebody motivated to hustle boat in right area...

so who is that quality broker and how much do i sell for with a broker to cover the difference???

That boat it's already listed in Italy , the broker asked me in December 07 $150.000 more or less to have the boat here in Italy with the change of Flag included ($5000) and VAT payed .
It's not really the trouth...Cigs are not really hotcakes ...
Some rich boy or soccer players can buy a NEW Cig ..
Poeple here prefers Pershing , Riva , Ferretti and the most are Diesel .
The TG with the Cigar Smoking Child it's still for sale ! They started at € 120.000 = $ 188.000 and today they ASK € 80.000
= $125.000 , but...IF YOU PAY CASH ...the Cig it's yours for €70.000 = $ 109.000
I think in Italy it's easyer to sell a NEW boat (Cig market)

I agree w/ some points made here.
If a loan is hard to get, then that would be an issue.
And location... get it to the East Coast and it will sell fast.
It's much nicer than other 38s in that price range here.

On a side note, on an older heavy 38TG, i'd be more scared to have bravos than TRS. I KNOW there are plenty of TRS parts out there, and they will hold no prob behind this boat.
In a few years, its an easy swap to Konrads if desired.

Btw, how hard would it be to take the graphics off?
Or easier/better yet, paint silver over the pink? that made a big difference on the old pink flamingo boat.

I would recommend east coast in 1000 Islands area and I know 2 good brokers, 1 deals Formulas and Tiaras, the other deals Donzis and has his store on main drag where everybody coming and going would see it. There is the Alex Bay Poker Run in June and the biggest Poker Run out of nearby Kingston in Augustor.

The other are with more bucks and people is New Jersey shore area and you may want to consider Ocean City Maryland, again bucks and people.

I have been boating for about 20 years and only stumbled onto OSO recently when I was considering a used Cig Mistress...my point is guys with dough to drop are most likely not shopping online but want to buy from sight (with a test drive) and from a broker who will stand behind the sale.

An extremely successful mortgage broker pal has a theory...pay the highest commission possible and you will sell whatever you want quick! He listed his NJ shore house and told multiple brokers that he was not shopping commission but would gladly pay 10% to whoever sold his pad. Well it sold in less than 2 weeks and he rolled into a bigger and better pad that he wanted the following week...

Do the math and make a few calls...if you want the 1000 Island guys let me know and I will get you info.

http://www.aqua-mania.com/ is the Donzi dealer - husband and wife who I spoke with is very nice and knowledgeable - they are on the main strip - great place to showcase boat

http://horizonmarine.us/ Chavesty is last name, I forget his first name, but grew up with his younger brother drinking beers and chasin girls. I looked at a few Formulas that were priced high as their owners would not offer less against Chavesty advice...they still look to be for sale.

Certainly worth a shot - maybe they can sell your boat to somebody interested in buying but unwilling to spend a couple hundred grand...

I used to clean that boat once a week for 5 Summers. The original owner NEVER took it out. It's real nice. You should spend a little and put white gauges in at least. Those TRS drives are tough as hell up to 700hp or so.
