I was listening to Fox news in the car earlier. Some analyst is claiming Iran has cruise missiles and they may attack Saudi at some point. He says gas will be $12 a gallon. I don't care. If I have to sit in my boats in the lot and make motor noises, it beats the Hell out of taking up golf.

Its a very nice boat for sure. I just think most people will move up to Top Gun if they are shopping your price range. The TG's are most likely not nearly as clean or updated, but resale is better and the TG will 5-10 years newer. I think it is going to take a very specific buyer to give you decent price. After a trailer is figured in, its a 90k boat and there are a lot of good deals in that price range right now.

Sean it is a nice boat and contrary to others I like the idea of new 496's rather than 20 year old 502's. There will be plenty of stuff to fix on a 21 year old boat but atleast on yours it won't be the powertrain.

Keep in mind 80K can get you a newer Cigarette product. I think that boat should be sold as is, for about 30% off what you are asking but it is July and by September that sale price might get lower. If you get a solid cash offer you should seriously consider taking it or you might be digging this thread up next April.

That boat looks VERY cool, and VERY nicely done. Stock 496's might hurt it but the reality is a flat bottom cafe is never going to be fast by today's standards anyways.

Unfortunately the boat does look a little dated with the color scheme and the cockpit/interior. Extremely cool, but not for the masses.

I compare your boat to mine that I bought a year ago and think that Jupiter is right - if you get a financially credible offer in the mid 50's you might want to consider it. I paid only a couple grand more than that for my 1990 with a Manning trailer, fresh, conservative blower power, Sea Strainers, Bravo's with IMCO components in them, IMCO Hyd. Steering, Updated Swim Platform, somewhat "timeless" graphics, Sea Strainers, Extra set of props, 2 cockpit covers, one full cover, new style cabin, etc.....

It's just hard right now and unfortunately people can get Gun's for a negligible amount more than Cafe's.

If you decide to REALLY part it out I would be interested in your dash/guages - it looks great - I like the Silver (mine are blue).

Newer boat, bigger power, more modern graphics (I like the hockey sticks much better), Myco Trailer etc. for essentially the same asking price. Boat should survey for more money making the financing easier on the newer boat.

That 65K will also buy a newer 496 HO(or more) powered 26 cat, or some other newer but smaller/faster non-cig brand. As someone looking in this price range, upkeep also becomes an issue. If you aren't on big water, it may not be necessary to have the Cig (although it would be nice ).

In this price range upkeep/storage/towing costs probably come into play as well. I can afford a 90K newish 26 cat with a single, that'll be turnkey and faster, and have much lower "other costs", or maybe 50K on a bigger cig. So combined with financing this makes these boats have a smaller market. I still love them, and it's a tough decision.
