Thanks for the info Dave, the plot thickens....

I got the HIN, I had to sand off some corrosion to see it. The HIN is:

CRTZNR70011M83E.

Which is of course not a valid HIN. My guess would be that the real HIN is ZNR70011M83E. This would mean that it was made by Magnum Marine of Walkerville ON, according to the HIN database. This does not appear be the Magnum Marine of Don Aronow, but there does not seem to be much information about it. Does anyone know about this company or boat?

And I assume that when someone converted it into a Cigarette by sticking on all the Cigarette labels, they even took the time to engrave CRT onto the HIN plate. Why they would do that, and not replace it, is not clear.

So I know less now than I did before. If anyone has any insight into what this boat is, and how it got that way, I would love to hear it. Thanks.

Thanks for the sympathy. It does not really bother me, in that I just wanted a fast boat, and I am happy with it, and I feel that I got a good price. I would like to know more though. As for the cool stuff, I would trade it for equivalent Magnum stuff, bring your offers.
