All of us with older, re-done Cigs would love to see him get that kind of money for a 1992.

Great looking boat and great job on the re-do. It does look like a 10.

This is a bit off topic but what are the plusses and minus to a kevlar hull?

1. I can read OSO classifieds with prices posted. I do not post what I think a member's boat is worth specifically (that is rude, especially not seeing the boat in person).
2. Both Randy's TG and this Restored #6 Straight Gun are very memorable.
3. What you think of me is about as important as a day old newspaper.
4. Now is not the time to buy, but when snow hits the ground it is buying time.

Honestly Stecz whether people like it or not I am just commenting on the current market. I live and boat in S. FL which is the hottest powerboat market in the country (we boat year round, have inland/ ocean boating and a substantial amount of boats/ dealers). Now their are a few mint boats tucked away in barns/ garages all over America that will pull stronger money (like the 35 straight bottom sold recently at LOTO) but most of the stuff is just used fiberglass. What people are asking on some boats is no where near what they are being offered which is what I like to point out. Financing is tough, economy is tough, fuel/ insurance are at an all time high yet some sellers are still asking 2005 prices on boats that are older now which results in the long ads, stupid posts like "boat not selling, help."

I know of a mint 07 TG that is for sale and the guy cannot get a solid offer over 225K on the boat and that offer was more of a trade deal on a F430 Ferrari. Tons of excuses like no financing, got to sell a (house, RV, another boat) before getting the new boat. Tons of calls, not a lot of "players" in this game right now.

Think about it: How many people do you know actively shopping for a late model performance boat right now? How many ready to pull the trigger in the next 2 weeks/ month?
I can't think of a single person. Yet in years past it seemed every poker run (monthly) someone shows up with new hardware or had something on order. I only know one person (personally) who took delivery of a new boat in 2008. The Miami Boat Show Cigarettes (38,39) are still unsold from February! When have you ever seen that? Most of the time they are sold at the show and doing the MBS Poker Run the next week with FPC.......

Jupiter,
You don't seem to be a bad guy. It's just that everyone is a little tired of your doom and gloom know it all attitude, especially, it seems when it comes to Cigarettes and their values. Personally, I thought you crossed the line when discussing Wild's boat. And, while you have brought up alot of good points, you also seem to enjoy ranking on people and what their perceived values are when selling their boat. Please stop trying to be the Cigarette NADA/Bluebook spokesperson know it all of OSO and use your knowledge in a more positive/productive manner that can benefit us all. Beating a dead horse helps no one.
