If he then has any blood of Jake LaMotta in himself then he´ll be just as stubborn and stupid to succeed in rowing home a boat project he seems to yearn for.
Now I guess you got landed yourself somekinda job at the Marina?
If not do that,, that´s where the deals are plus you´ll learn the ropes.. that´s how I did it in the 70´s.
And get a profession or schooling you want to pull thru.
Life ain´t all about Top Guns... remember the Cig 38 or acutally 37.6 and 39 Squadron and Squadron XII ( like Dry Martini) came before ( just search here the info is all there..).
Guys kgive the kid a break he´s on his knees and already has his pants down waiting for the spanking
and one final note... do only tackle one project at a time no matter how sweet deals you find around.

I got a great project for you, and the best part is it's free. You just got to promise to carry it through.
I've had this boat laying around too long. It's a 1987 Wellcraft 196 (19') cuddy cabin. Solid fresh water hull, no motor, no drive, needs cockpit upholstery. Was a 4 cyl 3.7L/Alpha One No trailer. These are cool little boats, my wife had one for a while and I was going to build another but no time.
You come to Maine with a trailer, You can have it for free.
Great project boat for a young man.
