What this does'nt tell you is what drive and engine appl.,,,,,also your only talking 500 pounds +/- thats not even to worry about in my book.

I've found the ride difference between the two to be quite substantial. I own a 1989 'Gun, blower motors, Was TRS now Konrad. Old style cabin.

My buddy restored a 1992 'Gun, blower motors, Konrad drives, pretty much the same everything except the cabin lay out.

My old '89 rides great, no porpoise, very little tab needed on flat water. The '92 'Gun needed quite a bit more tab to control porpoise in flat water. The boat felt much lighter in the nose.

The difference in weight in the cabin layout between the to is very noticeable when riding in one and hopping in the other. The early cabin has a solid floor under the V berth. The newer cabin has the trampoline like material under the v berth pad. I do not know for sure but I'd bet my '89 Gun could possibly weigh 200-300 more lbs in the nose most
likely delivering a better ride than the newer 1992 boat.

Hey Kurt what do you mean by this???? in my V berth I have a rectangular cut out that has rotating latches that allows me pop the piece out and there is a small storage compartment mybe 6inchs deep....what this trampoline like material you're referencing??

On the older style cabins ('87-90), the berth is flat. Mine has a compartment under it. :cool:

When the next style cabin came out, the bed cushions are suspended on a webbed material. In my opinion, that newer style cabin was a better layout, but the berth sucks...especially if there are two people becuase you roll towards the center like being in a hammock.. A friend of mine cut that stuff out and installed plywood in there under the cushions. Works mucho better!:ernaehrung004:
