Arnesons are awesome, would love to strap an asd6 onto the back of anything and get some 'tail'. |

Same way you do if the boats had a Speed Master drive and the same Mercury Cleaver propeller.
I've yet to see anyone get injured on the Arnesons but if you search you will find plenty of people who have been mangled from a Bravo, an Outboard and everything else. Stay away from all props. |

Rik, so it seems you can get the props deep and centered, similar to a staggared layout. Of course you engines are still side by side. is that correct?
Today with the larger engine rooms and cockpit configurations we can stagger the engines also and use a different drive configuration. Of course what is good is also bad. This is what lead to the misnomer that Arnesons are difficult to dock as everyone "now" knows a stagger setup is more difficult to dock than a side by side but back then there were very few pleasure boats that were staggered. So when they had a side by side engine setup in a boat they felt they should dock like a typical side by side boat BUT these are setup with a stagger propeller shaft centerline.. Hence, they are more difficult to dock. Put all drives with the propellers on the same centerline and they all basically dock the same. The new setups are much cleaner and easier to install also. |

How much further back are the props than on a bravo? Unfortunately, the last time i saw some ASD's was on a 53magnum... yrs back, and i remember them being quite long. And how about from a fresh start cost wise, bravo vs asd6. |
how much more mph do you pick up having arnesons?

I'll take the 5 - 10 percent along with they don't break.
