ummmm no

1999 had 10 limited ed 35 "guns"

all were straight bottom

there was no single step 35
there were 5 single step 38s all bad

the first 35 t/s was a 2000 black playboy that titos took around the PR circuit with the bunnies( i would not want to sit in that cabin with out it being sanitized first)

There was at least one awesome single step 38'.

I'm out!

Always heard of the proverbial ' used car salesman' I think i just met (phone and e-mail) the 'used boat salesman!

Good luck to anyone trying to buy this boat-- I tried, and am done.

I wish the 'winner' all the luck, but truthfully I feel that this sales yard is not in the top ten, even though the bank that has the boat is being blamed for the situation.

Yep going thru the same thing with the boat as well, all paper work is done, approved price, and financing done, then they upped the price over what they were asking!!!

delsol 01-29-2010 04:24 PM

Really -- funny part is Bill said I had the high bid the first time, then bank came back and countered at 85K -- 5 more than asking price. I actually offered him original asking price -- the bank had said they wanted to get for it originally -- they said no its worth alot more now.

Today his qoute was if you want to offer more you can -- but I'm getting 70 calls a day on this and it'll be gone by tonight" I said have a nice day!

Crazyiest part is he said that they (Marina Mile) have the power of attourney on the boat, -- so I don't know how Bill can keep blaming the bank ??

WMF -- good luck -- at the price he was talking that it's going to take to buy it I am more interested in the one at Phil's--- newer boat -- bigger power and drives -- not to mention the wood floor;-)

Looks like a fun boat for $90K...I'm sure it will have a new home real soon.

its a nice boat, but I think at 90K it will be sitting for a while. the only reason interest was so high on it was the price. Honestly for 90k there is more to offer people. just my 2 cents.

I too spoke to the salesman asswipe and he was blowing smoke up my ass too, but he did say that Phil had stopped by to see the boat . so take it for what its worth ....ask phil if its a good buy or not, then the truth will be told period ,because the guy does it the stand up way.... just my 2cents

Yea Phil looked at the boat, but Phil is out to make a profit, at 90K there is no profit!!! I had a contract on the boat, money was there, the owner/ salesman has been watching these post on OSO, and thinks he has a gold mine!! He does not, it will all come out in the wash!!:drink:

pm203 01-31-2010 12:40 PM

I think the boat is still a good buy at 90K.

bmanafort 01-31-2010 05:51 PM

I am going to play devils advocate on this one and say it is not that great of a deal. I looked at buying a playboy before my Gladiator (last february) and at the time there were 3 for sale that could be had for $95,000 to $104,000 (the original black one, the white one, and the white/blue one that was traded in on the formula 400ss). What was the cost between buying one with 496's or 500's when it was new. I bet you it was close to a $40,000 upgrade for the 500's.

I agree 100%, the boat is worth 70-80K in todays market

dreamer 02-01-2010 10:25 AM

was a 496 avail in 01?

pm203 02-01-2010 11:15 AM

It may not be a great deal anymore, but I still think its a good deal if the boat is nice.

Yes Mercrusier started putting them in boat in late 2000.

bmanafort 02-01-2010 06:48 PM

Still being devils advocate, I will say it is a lot of boat for the money.

dreamer 02-01-2010 08:19 PM

75k deal 90k no deal

but in the sub 100k market the diff between deal and not gets a lot less

15k between deal and not

where at 200+ its probably not even a deal breaker

I called on this boat yesterday and apparently it's sold. Would have been a fun one with Whipples
