Cheap 35 T/S
|
I would think that it is the right price for that power in todays depressed market.
|
If the boat is in good to excellent condition, I think its a steal.
|
Wow, not a bad price at that... How much for some bigger hp?
|
what would that boat run with that setup?

kind of what i was thinking. whipples would probably do wonders for that boat

I am not familiar with 496's - is that HP# of 375 correct?
I can't imagine it is?? |
Yep, regular 496's are 375. HO's are 425. Can't imagine why they put those engines in that boat.
|
or one could sell the 496's and put in some low hour take out 500 or 525 efi's and have a smokin ride.

There is a hole in the upper left of the dash. What is supposed to go there??

There is not a chance that boat is running 80-82 on GPS. Loaded with gear and fuel 75 would be tops.

I don't care what he got his gps speedo to read.... There is no way a 496 35 Cigarette is running 82. That's like me saying my 38 Fountain with 500's runs 90. heres my phoney picture from my gps too.

I checked into it, it will run around 76-77 on gps, but i bet with some prop work it might hit 80 on GPS!!:drink:

How is the ride/handling on the 35? You don't hear much about them. Is the bottom a one off or is the same as a glad?
How would it handle 700's and Konrads, would it totally throw off the CG? dave |

The pic of the motors is hard to see. I could not tell if there was an HO on the cowling. If it is an HO boat they need to fix the add! |

Very good I'm told. The ride is close to a TG because they are only a couple feet shorter, or less! I called on several (including Dreamer's) when I was looking to move up. But with nothing less than 500's.

I had my 00 mystique straight bottom with 500's. With the wind behind me, current in my favor, it just hit 83.
|
HO's make that a better deal at that price. I think someone can live with those but not a 375 hp 496 in that boat.
|
I agree with some dialing in that boat would run over 80. Hook up some shorty lowers and some labbed up 5 blades and I thin you are there. I personally like the 496hos. Super reliable and bulletproof. I think that boat is a rip for someone that wants a T/S for not a lot of money. There is even enough dollars left over to convert the boat to a 500 efi boat and off the 496s. That is a beautiful ride though.

I like the setup with HOs. Good looking boat with lots of potential. Good boat to buy with upgrade in power later on while keeping the initial price down in the beginning.
|
The boat was mine and is perfect. It is a lip ship edition and the 496 motors are freshwater cooled and the HO 425hp. It runs 75 on the GPS.

Mike did you trade it in, or are they brokering it?
|
Where does the 2.5/3 ft come out compared to 38'? I've read that the cockpit is the same, engine compartment is the same, so I 'm guessing it comes out of the bow?
Also is the cockpit and engine compartment as deep as a 38? it seems like it is shallower. |

Also is the cockpit and engine compartment as deep as a 38? it seems like it is shallower. The 35 has smaller fuel tanks The cockpit is exactly the same not any shallower, engine compartment is the same and the cabin is the same The 38 has a set of cleats halfway between the bow and cockpit that the 35 doesn't, the 38 has a notch in the transom also that the 35 doesn't |
Thanks -- How did you like your 35? how much difference is there in ride between a 38 and the 35?
|
Had to let it go. Last year was tough on business. The bow I think. I used to have a 38 and the cockpit is the same. It may be a liitle shallower but not the cockpit. Trust me when I tell you this boat needs nothing except a GPS. The pictures dont do the boat and paint justice and it was always stored inside and very reliable.
|
I loved the boat and have nothing bad to say about it other than I had absolutely no time for it. Rode and handled great. The only time i could really see a difference in the ride over my 38 was anything greater than 5ft seas but cruise all day at 50-60 and still be somewhat economical.
