black hawk is a bravo style, not sure what you mean by velt?

the speedmaster TRS drive uses a c72 velvet drive tranny. so was wondering if blackhawk also needed a tranny...

I would think if you where starting out from ground zero it just makes it so much easyer to use modern day parts a blackhawk or a xr drive and forget that trans less moveing parts is always a good thing . I had a old set up for a few years and now have xr drive it is so much better

I am putting a ITS and a Blackhawk on mine The ITS has an advantage of integrated hydraulic steering.

With the speed you are working you will be done before I start on mine. I have the ITS, Blackhawk 500 HP Motor and a bunch of parts but have not touched hull yet that will start to change this weekend as the weather is getting nicer and I have to work outside.

Great job so far on yours

no sir it does not need one. i have to agree with the above posts, stay with a more modern setup, the money spent now will pay off down the road.

seems as if the blackhawk is the drive to run,,,, I will have to look into the ITS set up..... any one running a bravo max machine drive ? seems like guys are running big 14x22 inch tabs around 550hp....

I think now your talken that 540 motor will give you a lot of bang for your buck i have one in my 20 and it has done a graet job . But if you have a little extra money i would go with aluminun heads to save the wieght
