That's the true "Cover Girl" cabin in your picture. You can unzip that piece that has the logo, & there's room up to the Vee for storage, but it's not upholstered, or "finished out" past the logo.
There's the "Extended Cover Girl" layout as well, which has a "bed" that goes all the way to the vee, instead of being cut off like the Cover Girl layout you have pictured. On a Mystique, it's not going to make much of a difference with the boat being 30ft long, no matter which layout you choose. |

Buy a cafe racer! Better bang for the buck, better rough water ride (heavier & 5' longer), way better cabin (true full cabin with bed, head, table, cooler, etc), timeless lines...great boat!

-Mike I found a 1986 Mistress 35' that was spotless, I was thinking I could bring it up to date over time. But started to think this will cost me as much as one that is good to go. Storage is an issue around us, most places only do up to 32'. We are trying to start a family and I don't want to be married to a huge monthly payment. So I thought the perfect boat would be a 30' cig! nice boat! fast! and I would think rides great too! So began the search for a 30' somwhere near the 2000's. Now I am not your average powerboat owner I don't need huge engines I like to just cruise. I want to pay this off and own it for a long period of time. I just want to turn the key and go. I am looking to spend less than 75k on this boat. |

This is the only one that I found and it seems to be nice. I still think it is a tad high in the price IMO WMF's was a great deal. If I remember this boat was @ 90k when it came for sale but I could be wrong.

Have you looked into a 31 Cig Bullet at all? They made them from 88 to 93. Heavier than a Mystique and a wider beam! Lots of cabin space with and inclosed head. I have one and they are great rough water boats.

They are pretty rare is the problem. Only a hand full of T/S and straight bottom 30's made. That yellow/blue one is a great looking boat. Figure down the road at some point (hopefully 150-200 hrs from now) you'll have to go through the motors. Drives are relative - meaning, they will treat you right as long as you treat them right.

Thanks! your boat appears to be well taken care of. What year did they stop production?

Sunsation 96, That's a clean looking Mystique set up nice with the upgraded engines, there's something to be said for a "newer" vintage boat. Looks like a big step up from thr cabin to the cockpit, I like the boat! Steve

I thought it was also a clean boat, I wonder how many hours are on it. But then I see the 35's and love the look! I give up! Maybe in the next few months a few more will come for sale

Jon,
I really like that Yellow 30' you posted in this thread. Seems like a great boat for you. My advise as a father of a 4 year old is to get the boat before your wife gets preganant or things could change for the worst. I also suggest getting one of the newer boats, as it should make it easier to get financing and insurance. |

Thanks Magic, As far as the financing goes I was approved in less than 30 min for a 35' Mistress that is 26 years old and had insurance with in 15 minutes quoted @ $733/year which was cheaper than my Sunsation:coolcowboy: I don't know which way to go right now the thought a 35' is sweet a real 35' there is a few Cafe's that I really like but that depends on what the price will be. It seems the 30's are like finding a unicorn chilling in the woods in the winter:lolhit:

Some states may have a reciprocity deal, where if you buy from a dealer you can pay MI sales tax to them I believe. Also, some CU's will accept a survey rather than NADA if you are struggling w/ value. You must be doing a fairly short term loan for them not to balk at financing an 80's boat. Michigan First is another fairly easy to deal w/ local CU. |
